CLOTHING CARE

Simple care makes a big difference. Follow the guidance below to help your YAKUDO clothing retain its fit, colour, comfort and performance.

Different fabrics need different care. Performance cycling jerseys should be treated differently from cotton T-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts, so we’ve separated the instructions below.
PERFORMANCE CLOTHING

CYCLE JERSEYS

Designed to protect technical fibres, stretch, breathability and moisture-wicking performance.

Washing Instructions

  • Wash at 40°C or lower. Higher temperatures may cause technical clothing to distort and lose fit or comfort.
  • Separate bold colours. Wash strong colours separately to help prevent colour transfer.
  • Use a gentle cycle. A gentler wash helps preserve structure, stretch and breathability.
  • Avoid fabric softener. Softeners can interfere with moisture-wicking properties and technical performance.
  • Close zips before washing. This helps protect both the zip and surrounding fabric.

Drying Instructions

  • Air dry naturally. Hang or lay the jersey flat in a cool, well-ventilated place.
  • Do not tumble dry. High heat can damage technical fibres and elasticity.
  • Do not iron. Direct heat may damage performance fabric and printed graphics.
  • Avoid radiators and strong direct sunlight. Excessive heat can affect fibres, elastic and colour.
EVERYDAY & LIFESTYLE CLOTHING

T-SHIRTS, HOODIES & SWEATSHIRTS

Care guidance for YAKUDO cotton and organic-cotton lifestyle garments, particularly printed pieces.

Washing Instructions

  • Wash at 30°C. A cooler wash is kinder to cotton fibres, colour and printed decoration.
  • Wash inside out. This helps reduce rubbing and wear on printed YAKUDO graphics.
  • Wash similar colours together. Keep lights, darks and strong colours appropriately separated.
  • Use a normal or gentle cycle. Avoid unnecessarily harsh washing programmes.
  • Do not bleach. Bleach can damage fabric colour and printed designs.

Drying & Ironing

  • Air dry where possible. Reshape the garment after washing and allow it to dry naturally.
  • Do not tumble dry. This helps reduce shrinkage and protects printed decoration.
  • Iron inside out on a low setting if required. Never iron directly over a printed YAKUDO design.
  • Check the garment label. The sewn-in care label for your specific product should always take priority.
LOOK AFTER YOUR YAKUDO. Wash only when needed, use lower temperatures and avoid unnecessary heat. Your clothing will retain its shape, colour and feel for longer.
